You can configure Events in Member365 with a sophisticated workflow of fees. How do all the dates, options, and toggles work? Continue reading to find out.
Types of Ticket Fees
When you add a ticket to your Event, there are four possible fees. There is an Early Bird Fee, an Early Bird II Fee, a Regular Fee, and a Late Fee.
Early Bird Fee
Registrations between the Open Registration Date and the Early Bird Date are charged the Early Bird Fee.
Early Bird II Fee
Registrations between the Early Bird Date and the Early Bird II Date are charged the Early Bird II Fee.
Regular Fee
Registrations between the Early Bird II Date and the Late Registration Date are charged the Regular Fee.
Late Fee
Registrations between the Late Registration Date and the Close Registration Date are charged the Late Fee.
Types of Penalty Fees
You can charge registrants penalty fees if they modify or withdraw their ticket after a given date. Modification Fees and Withdrawal Fees can both exist for your event, and they’re both optional.
Withdrawal Fee
If a registrant withdraws their ticket after the Withdrawal Penalty Date, they will be charged a Withdrawal Fee.
The Withdraw Penalty Fee is specified under the ‘Penalty Fees’ header in the Tickets tab when editing an Event.
- Per Ticket: Each ticket withdrawn will incur the Withdraw Penalty Fee. If five tickets are withdrawn, the registrant will be charged the Withdraw Fee five times.
- Per Purchase: The Withdraw Fee will incur once, no matter what. If the registrant only withdraws one of their tickets, they are charged the Withdraw Penalty Fee. If the registrant withdraws all of their tickets, they’re still only charged the withdraw fee once.
Modification Fee
If a registrant modifies their ticket after the Modification Penalty Date, they will be charged a Modification Fee.
The Modification Penalty Fee is specified under the ‘Penalty Fees’ header in the Tickets tab when editing an Event.
- Per Ticket: Each ticket modified will incur the Modification Penalty Fee. If five tickets are modified, the registrant will be charged the Modification Fee five times.
- Per Purchase: The Modification Fee will incur once, no matter what. If the registrant only modifies one of their tickets, they are charged the Modification Penalty Fee. If the registrant modifies all of their tickets, they’re still only charged the withdraw fee once.
Congratulations, you now know how each of the Ticket Fee Types are determined, how to configure each, and how to configure your penalty fees!
