Dashboard widgets allow you to display useful information directly on your Dashboard.
To add a Widget:
- Click +Add Widget button.
- Select the option to choose Single Widget or All Widgets
Single Widgets – Lets you choose from a dropdown list of related widgets per module.
All Widgets – Displays all Widgets.
3. Select the widget you wish to add, then click Add button.
4. Save your changes.
What should you add?
Choose information that you regularly need to monitor.
Examples may include:
- Membership activity
- Membership renewals
- New members
- Event activity
- Registration information
- Payments or financial activity
- Engagement information
- Frequently used functions
Member365 provides centralized visibility into membership, dues, renewals, event participation, engagement, and other member-related information, making these types of metrics useful candidates for dashboard organization.
Remove a Dashboard Component
If a widget is no longer useful, you can remove it from your Dashboard.
To remove a widget:
- Click on the three dots and click Delete
- Save your changes.
Tip: Removing a component from your Dashboard does not delete the underlying Member365 data. It only changes what is displayed on your Dashboard.
Move or Reposition Components
You can organize your Dashboard so that the information you use most often is easy to find.
To move a component:
- Open the Dashboard customization page view.
- Locate the widget you want to move.
- Select and hold the component using the available drag-and-drop control.
- Move it to your preferred location.
- Release the component.
- Continue arranging other components as needed.
- Save your changes.
Recommended layout
Consider placing your most important information at the top of the Dashboard.
For example:
Top:
Key membership or renewal information
Middle:
Events, registrations, and member activity
Lower section:
Less frequently used information and secondary metrics
This allows users to see the information requiring their attention first.
Resize Dashboard Components
Some dashboard components may allow you to change their size.
To resize a component:
- Open the Dashboard customization page view
- Locate the widget you want to resize by pointing your cursor to the resize control symbol.
- Adjust the component to the desired size.
- Review the Dashboard layout.
- Save your changes.
Note: Resizing options depend on the type of dashboard component.
A larger component can be useful for information that requires more detail, while smaller components can be used for quick statistics or shortcuts.
Customize a Dashboard for a Specific Workflow
A Dashboard does not need to display everything available in Member365.
Instead, build the Dashboard around a specific workflow.
Example: Membership Team
A membership team may want quick access to:
- New members
- Renewals
- Membership status
- Member activity
- Membership categories
Example: Events Team
An events team may prioritize:
- Upcoming events
- Registrations
- Attendance
- Event activity
- Event-related member information
Example: Management
Management may prefer high-level information such as:
- Membership totals
- Renewal activity
- Revenue
- Event participation
- Engagement trends
Member365 supports reporting and segmentation around membership levels, renewal status, custom-field data, and engagement activity, which can help organizations focus dashboards around the information most relevant to their operations.
Best Practice: Review your Dashboard periodically. A dashboard should change as your organization's priorities change.
Create a Dashboard for Different Users or Roles
Different users may need different information.
For example, the person managing memberships may not need the same Dashboard information as someone managing events.
If your Member365 account provides multiple-dashboard or role-based dashboard options:
- Select the option to create a new Dashboard.
- Give the Dashboard a descriptive name.
- Add the components relevant to that role or workflow.
- Arrange the components in the desired order.
- Save the Dashboard.
- Configure the applicable access or assignment options, if available.
Suggested Dashboard names
Use names that clearly identify the purpose of the Dashboard:
- Membership Operations
- Events Management
- Finance Overview
- Communications
- Executive Overview
- Staff Dashboard
Note: Dashboard assignment and access options depend on your Member365 account configuration and user permissions.
Rename a Dashboard
If your account allows Dashboard names to be changed, use a name that clearly communicates the Dashboard's purpose.
To rename a Dashboard:
- Open the Dashboard management or customization area.
- Locate the Dashboard you want to rename.
- Select the available Edit or rename option.
- Enter the new Dashboard name.
- Save your changes.
Avoid generic names such as Dashboard 1 or New Dashboard.
Instead, use names that help users immediately understand what they are viewing.
Save Your Dashboard Changes
After making changes, make sure they are saved.
To save your changes:
- Review the Dashboard.
- Confirm that the widgets are arranged correctly.
- Confirm that the desired components are present.
- Select Save or the available save option.
- Return to the Dashboard to confirm the changes.
Important: Always save your changes before leaving the Dashboard customization screen.
Dashboard Customization Best Practices
Keep Your Dashboard Focused
More information does not necessarily make a better Dashboard. Only display information that helps users monitor activity or complete their work.
Prioritize Actionable Information
Give priority to information that requires attention or helps users make decisions.
Organize by Role
Whenever possible, design dashboards around the responsibilities of the people using them.
Avoid Duplication
If several widgets display similar information, determine whether all of them are necessary.
Review Regularly
Membership cycles, events, campaigns, and organizational priorities change. Your Dashboard should change with them.
Troubleshooting:
I don't see the Customize option.
Dashboard customization may depend on your user permissions or account configuration.
Contact your Member365 administrator if you believe you should have access.
My Dashboard is too crowded.
Remove components that you rarely use and move your most important information toward the top.
Consider creating separate dashboards for different workflows or user roles when those options are available.
I made changes but don't see them.
Make sure you saved your changes before leaving the customization screen.
If the changes still do not appear, refresh the Dashboard and verify that you are viewing the correct Dashboard.
