Placing your Event Banner in the Description so it Shows up in the Registration Pop-up in the Member Portal

You may have noticed that when you go to the member portal and click on an event in the calendar, it brings you to a pop-up with the dates and description, but you don't see the banner that you created in the event 'Overview' page. That's because the banner is designed to show up on your public registration page, not for members who are registering through the member portal.

Those banners may contain important branding or event information, though, so you may wish to put the banner directly in the description so it shows up on both the public registration page and the member portal registration pop-up. This article will walk you through how to put that image in the description and how to make it's size "responsive" (so it always displays the full width without being cut-off) - no matter the device or window size.

Moving the Banner to the 'Description' Section

1. Right click on the banner and select 'Copy' or 'Copy image'

2. Decide where in the 'Description' you want the banner to be displayed. Click on that location in the description and type 'paste' (Ctrl+V on Windows, Cmd+V on Mac).

3. You will now see your banner in the 'Description' section

Sizing the Banner

4. Click 'Source', which will bring you to the html code version of the description box

5. Locate the line representing the image of your banner. it will start with '<img src ='

6. After the file source (the part in quotations, as shown below) and before the '/>'...

... hit enter and paste in the following (as shown below): style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; display: block;"

Note

We recommend removing your banner from the 'Banner' section so you don't have the same banner twice on your public registration page

7. Hit 'Publish'

Test

After you've published the changes, go to your member portal and locate the event you just edited in the event calendar. Click on it, and make sure the banner shows up. Change the size of your window and make sure the banner changes too (instead of getting cut off). If something doesn't look right, try following these steps again and if it still doesn't work, submit a ticket to the Customer Success team.

Congratulations! You have created a responsive banner that will show up in the registration pop up in the member portal.
